The link a above has some great tips on how to use Powerpoint or Prezy in your classroom. The goal is not to use it as one would an overhead (i.e. solely for copying notes.) The slides should inform the lesson, and encourage true note taking and not solely copying what appears on the slide. This is a process and must be eased into depending on your audience’s study skills (specifically attentive listening, Cornell note taking, etc) and the rapport you have built with them.
P.S. François Jourde is quite inspiring and his blog is a must read for those–like yours truly–who are interested in using technology in the classroom to enhance collaborative learning by their students.
Fair warning to my uni-lingual anglophone friends and peers, 99% of the content on his site is in French only.
Bon courage à tous!
